You know how sometimes when you are journaling you end up writing a little personal revelation. Then when you reread it you are like...whoa...I really needed to hear that. It's like a post-it note from God. A little reminder that He is still in control and He is still looking after you.
While I was emailing a friend today this very thing happened. I just wanted to send a little note to let him know someone from BR was keeping up with him, and wham...God gave me a little nugget. I was telling Caleb how things were going for Honduras and then when I reread the email I saw this:
"so i am gearing up for the move. it's hard to be here and there at the same time...but i think i will probably feel this way for the rest of my life. caught between this and that, here and there. i should learn to love it in that place. a place where God is the constant, the thread holding my life together. "
Please pray that I would do just that...not depend on my surroundings for encouragement or comfort but depend only on God who is everywhere I will ever be. If I can really be at home where ever He is then I will be at home everywhere He sends me.

Always Praising?!
As many of you know I have been in a season of waiting. Waiting to go to Honduras, waiting to earn the money to go to Honduras, waiting to get the job to earn the money to go to Honduras...you get the picture. I have been waiting on things for my family as well...waiting for salvations, for them to live fully committed lives, for them to understand what I am doing isn't just something I think will be fun (although it is fun most of the time).
Right alongside this season of waiting has been a season of trusting. Trusting that God will provide. Trusting that He will take care of my family...I mean the guy has the whole world in the palm of His hand, right.
It has seemed like forever. Waiting and trusting takes a long time, but in reality it has only been about a month. So much has happened in this month that I have not really thanked God for. It took Israel 40 years to get to know God, to understand His character and they still got a lot wrong after all that time.
Now I see that along with waiting and trusting should always be praising. We can't just give God props when everything is going like we think it should. We should want to praise Him all of the time and for everything He does for us and to us.
I read something this morning and it really got me..."If you are really in God like you should be then anything that gets to you has been allowed by God to reach you. We should be thankful..." WOW! That paints a picture...I thought of being inside a God bubble and Him approving everything that came inside that bubble. Some of the things I like and some of the things I didn't. Some of them hurt me and some of them were awesome...but they all had purpose, they all took part in shaping me. Therefore I should be grateful, thankful even, for every challenge, every wait, every opportunity to trust and I should PRAISE God in all things.
I'm glad it only took a month for me to figure that one out. I don't want to have to go another 39 years and 11 months without praising God like He deserves. He is my rescuer, my savior, my provider. He is almighty, benevolent, caring, discerning, Elohim, father, great, healer, impassioned, just, kind, love, merciful, near, omniscient, present, quiet, righteous, sinless, trustworthy, unchanging, victorious, worthy, exalted, yearns for us, and He is Zion.
So learn this lesson quick. Through the waiting and trusting make sure you are also praising the God who gave everything for a chance to save you.

Adventures in Honduras
During the 3 days I spent in Honduras there was a...
Hurricane scare: It turned out to be a tropical storm, but for a few hours we were wondering if the plan we were creating for the next year would have to include rebuilding everything from the ground up. It was a scary thought.
Plane crash: TACA airlines (AKA ...Take A Chance Airlines) had a plane crash in Tegucigalpa. That airport is considered the most dangerous in the world because of the mountains that surround the very short runway. TACA is one of the few airlines that fly from Honduras to USA. I was actually on 5 different TACA planes in between La Ceiba and New Orleans.
Although these made for interesting phone conversations... "Hello...it's Heather. I only have a few minutes to talk...Yes, I know about the Hurricane...it's only a Tropical Storm...just a little bit of rain. Yes, I heard about the plane crash...Yes, I am flying on TACA but not out of Teguc. No, we should be home as scheduled..." They were conversations I would have rather not had at all.
I guess I am going to have to get used to it though. That's where the faith comes in. I believe in the promise God has given me through the Bible that says he has plans for my life (Jeremiah 29:11). I believe in the power of prayer and that my God reigns in this world. I trust in Him for my safety. So please join me in prayer; I will never turn it down!

Home Again
OK so obviously the whole blogging in Honduras thing didn't quite work out as planned. I am back in the states now and I am about 5 minutes from some great undisturbed sleep.
I have just had the most incredible time! I was honored to travel with two incredible women (Claudia Berry and Paulette Wunstel) to an unbelievable beautiful place to meet a family that is giving it all to God. The Williams family is serving it up in Honduras and I am so excited with the possibility of going and serving their needs.
This has just been the coolest month! I can't wait to tell you more about it when I am all rested up and can type without having to backspace after almost every letter. I love you guys so much!
Oh and by the way...all of the luggage made it there and back again...miracle!! Thank you for your prayers!!

En Route
We made it to San Salvador, El Salvador...I am having coffee with Mrs. Claudia and Mrs. Paulette in the airport. We got some traditional sweets from a little cookie shop and they are very good. I am glad to be in a country that appreciates good coffee! Espresso con leche, por favor!!
Next stop San Pedro Sula and then La Ceiba. Please pray for favor and traveling mercies. We almost missed our connection in Miami so we aren't sure if our luggage made the plane or not.
So I may be wearing this set of clothes for a while...I just had to bring the laptop so there wasn't room for any clothes on the carry on...ahaha

Bon Voyage
So I am embarking on the next part of this whirl wind tour! I am leaving for Honduras in the morning. I have been thinking a lot about God and his faithfulness. I am still trying to digest all that God showed me in Africa. I was sitting on my couch this morning and God spoke to me he said...I am the same yesterday today and tomorrow. He is the same...in Africa, the US and Honduras.
I am so honored to be in the position that I am in. Tomorrow I am leaving to go meet the people I will be spending a year with. I will be traveling with two incredible women of God. I am so excited!!
Please pray for confirmation from God on what his will for my life is. I am expecting that all of my doubts will be erased. I know there will be questions and details that must be worked out but I expect God to show up. I expect to feel at home.
I am bringing my laptop down there so I hope to be able to get on the internet...we shall see. I will post as soon as I can!
